Groundhog's Day
Today is Groundhog's Day! Punxsutawney Phil did NOT see his shadow this morning so we have an early Spring on it's way! We all went outside (in the freezing cold) to measure our shadows and see how they change as the sun moves across the sky. We drew a line with chalk first thing in the morning. Then we came back a few times throughout the day to see that our shadow had moved.
This is our Winter/Spring graph. Each child colored in one square, either Winter or Spring, letting us know what they hope the weather would be. The graph shows that winter is the vote for today. However, yesterday we unanimously voted for spring?!
Tomorrow we will enjoy playing 'Shadow Tag' outside IF it is a little warmer than in the 30s!!! Happy Groundhog's Day!
