Visit to the Horses

Today we went over to Nanie's house to go play with her horses. She has two Arabians...Jazz and Willie. The kids got a little lesson on safety around horses and then learned how to groom a horse. They were very good listeners and had a super fun time!

Butterflies!!

This week we have started a very fun theme...butterflies! The Friday before Spring Break our caterpillars arrived. They quickly grew and grew into BIG caterpillars. In just a few short days they crawled to the top of our container and formed a chrysalis around themselves...all ten of them! We then put the chrysalises into our mesh house...we are currently waiting for them to turn into beautiful Painted Lady Butterflies! The kids are SO excited over the whole thing. They check on them every chance they get to see if they have hatched into butterflies yet.

In the picture above you can see the beautiful butterfly art projects that we made. Below, you can see the butterflies flying around! We also have been keeping a log of the process a butterfly goes through...the butterfly logs will come home next week!

Happy Birthday Carly!

Carly has turned 4 years old!! We celebrated at preschool one day by singing Happy Birthday to her while she held her special birthday certificate. She wore a pretty birthday outfit for the occasion.

We even got to attend her birthday party at Old Mac Donald's Ranch. Kenzie, Asher, Kate and Carly having fun on a tractor...believe it or not, Carly was having a fun time...that was just her "special" birthday pose. After all, it is hard work being four!!

Dr. Seuss Celebration

Today we celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday by having a special day dedicated to him. We wore our pj's and brought in our favorite Dr. Seuss books. Look above at the picture and you can see which ones are our favorites! Check out some of the fun activities we did:

We had 'Green Eggs and Ham' for breakfast. Then we made a graph that showed if we liked it or not...we had 5 yes votes and 2 no votes (which included Kenzie, Mr. Steve and Ms. Jen)!

No Dr. Seuss celebration can be complete without a 'Cat in the Hat' hat, so of course we had to make them!

After reading 'The Foot Book', we traced our own feet, counted them, placed them in a line, etc. How silly can feet be?!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss...thanks for all the great books!!
