Today we conducted our first science lesson. We will do one every Friday that goes along with the letter of the week. We each got three apple slices and put them on a paper towel. We left one alone, sprayed lemon juice on one, and sprayed water on the last one. We guessed what would happen to the apples and then came back to check on them a few times. The kids noticed that one in particular turned brown (the one we left alone). Someone else said that "the water one turned brown too". The one with the lemon juice stayed white and they thought that was funny! Now, tasting the one with the lemon juice on it was even funnier!!
Michael, Kaden, Carly, and Kate each made a paper doll of themselves. This helped us learn what we look like. For example, our eye color, hair color, and different types of clothing. Didn't they turn out adorable?
Michael, Kate, Kaden, and Carly are at our work table working on a book called "My Book of School Words". These kids love to "read" to us and are so enthusiastic about it.
And a perfect day it was! We have such a great group of kids...
Michael, Kaden, Kenzie, Kate, and Carly. It was a fun day getting all set in our routines and learning about each other. I'm really looking forward to a great year of preschool!
Carly and Kate enjoyed dressing up as princesses. Complete with the fancy shoes, purses, wands, and of course the pretty dress...aren't they the prettiest in all of the land?
