Merry Christmas!

Wow, I can't believe it's almost time for Christmas.  I want to wish each and everyone of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!  Thank you so much for all of my gifts...you all spoil me!  What fun it was to decorate gingerbread houses today...they turned out great.  I wonder if one of our Gingerbread Friends are inside one of our houses?!

Today we took our first field trip...we went to the pumpkin patch.  It was a beautiful day and we had lots of fun taking a hayride out to the pumpkin patch, riding the train, eating a picnic lunch, finding our way through the hay maze, visiting the petting zoo, and playing western ranch games.  Definitely a fun-filled day!

ABC Art Projects

Last week we made an 'A for Apple Tree' project for art. This week we made 'B for Bumblebee' projects. We do a project each Monday that we have a letter of the week. I will hold on to all of them until we finish the alphabet and will bind them into a book for you to keep. You can see your child's project at pick up time if you'd like. Here's a sample of this weeks. Each week has a cute little poem that we read...turns into quite the keepsake! :)

Our First Day!!

Today was our first day and what a day it was.  We had fun getting to know each other and learn all the daily routines.  We read a book called 'Joey's First Day' that made us all feel happy about our first day.  I hope all my little friends had as much fun as I did...it's going to be a great year!!

Happy 5th Birthday to Kenzie (July 8th)!

Summer Fun

Bounce House Fun

We had fun playing in the bounce house this morning before it got too hot! Thanks Elise for sharing...we had fun!

Jellyfish

Today at camp we made a jellyfish snack out of english muffins, strawberry cream cheese, and string cheese (tentacles). Turned out cute and yummy.

First Day of Summer Camp!!

Today was our first day of summer camp and a full house it was! We had nine friends joining in on the fun. We learned about whales and had a blast on the slip-n-slide.

Happy Graduation!!

Congratulations to the future class of 2026 (and 2027 for Kaitlin).  Our little preschoolers have graduated!!  I am SO proud of all of them and have enjoyed working with each and every child for the last two years.  They have truly learned so much and I am so proud of them.  I know they will each go on to do great things.  CONGRATULATIONS on all the hard work.  Have a fun, safe summer.  Looking forward to summer camp.  XOXO, Ms. Jen

Sand Buckets

Yesterday we made our last Kids in the Kitchen...sand buckets. The kids all really enjoy making these delicious treats as well as eating them!! Thanks for all the supplies! 

Earth Day Helpers

For Earth Day we went through the neighborhood and picked up trash. They were so tired after all their hard work we had to take a break under the shade on this bench.

Nature Walk

Today we went on a nature walk down the wash to help celebrate Earth Day. We observed the plant and animal life of the desert. We saw a bunny, birds, a lizard, snake holes, a bird nest, saguaros, jumping cholla, prickly pear, palo verdes, and lots of pretty spring flowers. And the best part was definitely the family of five javelinas!!

Butterflies!!

We had nine beautiful Painted Lady Butterflies!

Each child took a turn to grab one out of the net and let it go.  It was so exciting to watch them fly away.

We are hatching butterflies!! Last week we watched the tiny caterpillars grow bigger and bigger. This week they crawled to the top of the cup and formed a chrysalis around them. Can't wait to see what happens next!

Phoenix Zoo Field Trip

Another fun day at the Phoenix Zoo.  Here's our little friends in front of the giraffes.  We also got to see the squirrel monkeys, zebras, orangutans, elephants, snakes, and more...a great day at the zoo.  :)

5 Little Leprechauns

Read Across America Celebration

What a fun day today. We wore our pajamas and brought in our favorite Dr. Seuss books to help us celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday. Dr. Seuss was someone who loved to read and continues to encourage others to read. We had green eggs and ham for snack today and made a tally mark chart on whether or not we liked green eggs and ham...as did Sam-I-Am in the book Green Eggs and Ham. We read The Foot Book and then traced our own feet and made a foot trail. We read Marvin K. Mooney Will You Please Go Now and then we played a game of "go". We read Cat in The Hat Comes Back and then practiced balancing books on our head like the Cat in the Hat does. We even made a cute little Cat in the Hat art project. We finished up our day making chalk drawings of One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. How much fun is reading...thank you Dr. Seuss!

George Washington

Happy President's Day from our preschoolers! Last Friday we learned a little bit about Abraham Lincoln and today we learned about George Washington.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day to all. Today was our party so we decorated heart shaped cookies with sprinkles and then exchanged Valentine cards...what a FUN day to celebrate friendships! Thanks to all the moms for helping out at the party. Happy Valentine's Day!!

Happy Groundhog's Day!

This week we learned all about Groundhog's Day. We've read books about groundhogs, made art projects, made weather predictions, observed our shadows, and even enjoyed a groundhog snack.

Will the groundhog see his shadow? Below is a chart of our predictions. Can you believe the groundhog did NOT see his shadow...an early spring is on its way according to legend!!

Snowman Snack

Today we had 'Kids in the Kitchen' and we made these cute little snowmen snacks. A snowman cookie cutter, white bread, marshmellow fluff, and mini chocolate chips...YUM!! Thanks Kaitlin for the supplies. :)
