Happy 4th of July!!

To celebrate Fourth of July we made a yummy sparkler that we could eat. Marshmellow cream on a pretzel rod sprinkled with red and blue sprinkles...yum! We ate them and headed over to the pool to cool off. Have a Happy 4th of July!!!

Wagging Sprinkler Dog

Today we had a blast playing with our wagging sprinkler dog...his ears and tail wag so that the water sprays all over...all while the kids run around him in circles screaming and laughing as loud as they can!! It's always a fun time!

Parent's Night Out Event

Tonight we had a special night...Parent's Night Out which meant Mom and Dad could go out for a nice night while the kiddos came over for a movie night. First we all played in the backyard...you can see in the picture we did wheel barrel rides, one at a time, and they were all laughing so hard. Then we went inside and enjoyed our favorite pizza. Finally, it was movie time...we watched 'Toy Story', which was a big hit for everyone. No movie is complete without popcorn and candy so we had to have some of course. The movie was over a little before 10 pm and then we all got a burst of energy...just in time to hit the bed! One Big Happy Group

All the kids loved playing with our visitors today...Sarah and Nate (Carly's cousins) came to hang out with us. In the picture you see us enjoying our ice cream taste test. Chocolate wins the test and vanilla was a close second. Then we got to have some Birthday Cake ice cream in a cone, which might really have been our overall favorite. Such hard decisions!! Ice Cream Week!

This week our theme is 'Ice Cream' so we made our own ice cream today! It turned out YUMMY! All the kids loved it (as did I!)!! So here's how you do it:

ICE CREAM IN A BAG:

Ingredients:

*ice cubes

*1 gallon-sized Ziplock bag

*1 pint-sized Ziplock bag

*6 tbsp rock salt

*1/2 c milk or half & half

*1/4 tsp vanilla

*1 tbsp sugar

Instructions:

1. Put the ice cubes into the large bag until the bag is half full. Add the rock salt. Seal the bag.

2. Put the milk, vanilla, and sugar into the small bag. Seal the bag.

3. Open the large bag. Place the small bag inside the large bag. Seal the bag again.

4. Shake the bags for about 5 minutes or until the mix becomes stiff.

5. Take the small bag out of the large bag. Wipe off the outside of the small bag. Open the small bag and enjoy your ice cream!

Frogs on a Log

We are learning about frogs this week...ribbit, ribbit! Today we made a tasty snack of 'Frogs on a Log'. We took a pretzel rod and covered it with peanut butter. Then we added green m&m's to look like frogs on a log. Not only did we enjoy making them, but they tasted pretty good too! (Mitchell, Kaden, Michael, Kate, Kenzie, Dylan, and Carly).
